Not Your Mothers Breast Milk is an art blog dedicated to sharing stories about the human experience, connecting with one another, and giving artists an outlet to express their struggles and successes on this journey through life.
William Grant: Editor-In-Chief
William Grant is a writer and photographer living in the Chicago area. His writing has appeared in The Lab Review and Hypertext Magazine. His photography can be seen on the cover of the upcoming issue of Hair Trigger. He is the Editor-In-Chief of the art blog Not Your Mothers Breast Milk, which he also writes for. Currently, he is working on his first young adult novel.
Amber Burnett: Blog Manager
Amber Burnett loves steak more than most of her family members. She operates much like a light switch and words and art are important to her because they are forever.
Chapin Langenheim: Production Editor
Chapin Langenheim is a senior at Columbia College Chicago, earning their BFA in Creative Writing with a focus on Publishing. They published their first novel at 17 and watched it get banned two weeks later, a fact which fuels the hate-fire which compels them to stay up all night, editing and writing more books. Write sober, edit exhausted. It’s a good life. Currently, they are an acquisitions editor for for Hair Trigger, an award winning anthology. In the past, they’ve worked as an associate editor on Punctuate: A Non-Fiction Magazine (which you probably saw in Writers and Poets, if you read that sort of thing). They’ve also tutored extensively in the Fiction Department at their college, mainly to instill a love of books and a hatred of people in their tutees, but also to warm the endless winter of their blackened soul when their tutees experienced breakthroughs. They wouldn’t exist without stories. Let them tell you some.
William Horner: Production Editor
William Horner is a recent graduate from Columbia College Chicago, majoring in Creative Writing and minoring in Marketing. His current favorite word is "blench," only because it doesn't sound like a real word.
Spencer Blacketer-Carlson: Contributor
Spencer-Anne Katherine Blacketer-Carlson is a San Diego born lady who transplanted to the city of Chicago to gain a degree in Documentary Photography. Currently working as a pre-school teacher to provide a good life for het pet cat and rabbit, she enjoys exploring the many diverse neighborhoods of Chicago and spending time in Wisconsin working on her 1976 Airstream trailer with her hubby. In a mid artist life crisis, she sold her digital camera gear making her a strictly analog photographer, staying poor and shooting film. She dreams of one mastering her roller derby skills, actually growing her hair out before cutting it all off again and moving somewhere that is not so damn cold. Spencer is the co-founder of Not Your Mothers Breast Milk, when the idea was sprouted over breakfast at the Golden Apple diner.
