Confined

Confined

Confined

A Poem by Robert Beveridge

We sat together

and we plotted

hours and hours

adding up to eternities

clutching each other

fools who believed in forever

and asked in scarlet verse

the acceptance of the world

now those scarlet shards surround us

crunch under our feet as we pace

see each other through a plexiglass wall

marked with the scarlet imprints

of knuckled poetry

it comforts me to know

you'll never leave either
